Tying to buy this thing. It’s in SLC. I am not. All I would need is a ride from the airport to the dealer the car is at. Pre-purchase inspection is scheduled for Monday, down payment will be made Tuesday if car is good. I would fly in next Saturday morning, or maybe the one after that. If you help I well buy you a meal and let you drive it. It isn’t set in stone yet, but everything is all lined up and ready to go, just waiting on the inspection.

I could probably get the dealer to pick me up our take a cab, but that wouldn’t be any fun. Plus, I’ve never met another oppo in person.

PS: can anyone guys what it is? There should be enough hints in text and photo to figure it out.

some dealers will pick you up from the airport if you ask in case an OPPO can’t help.

Nope. Fairly close I think, the mechanic is still trying to find the best prices for parts last I knew.

kinda out of the way but let me take a look at my schedule. My wife’s grandmother died this morning so next Saturday (not tomorrow) could be the funeral so I will have to wait and see how it pans out, I should know in a day or two.

Either that or rebuilt heads. The mechanic seems like a good guy and is going to do a bit of cost analysis depending on what he can find.

I really wanted it to be an SLR, but I know that isn’t right because that was pre “AMG all the things”. Next I’d want it to be a g class amg because LULZ, but unlikely. So I’ll assume it is a C or E class wagon, maybe an S class.

You are a true god if that is a CLK GTR...

Mercer. There aren't too many shops in park city and salt lake was too far for the free tow. Plus in the spur of the moment it seemed like the best bet

Transit from the airport is really easy on trax(light rail) takes you from the terminal to downtown for $2.50 within a block or two of the Mercedes dealer.

Sounds about right. The other thing is, when techs join groups like that there will usually be at least one person who keeps badgering us to work on their car, for free or very little money (like $20 and a case of beer for head gaskets or something ridiculous like that). Or just perhaps the fear of that. But then again I go to Benz club meetings where I am every once in a while, and it can be good fun, and haven’t had anyone do that.

The only hints I will give right now are that it seats two, and it will be imported. Never meant for the US market.

The hard part is going to be finding one at all, much less one in the price range I’m budgeting. Unless one falls into my lap at the perfect price, the HEMIWagon will be completed before I even begin the import process.
